Classic of the week

If I mention the name Hank Williams Jr, I feel I should not say anything more. So for this week's classic it's him. I picked a cover which is also a live performance. You ask why cover? And the question is completely reasonable. But the answer is simple: the song he covered is well known, and the original was great, but his talent elevates it. Also a proof that just because it's a cover, it doesn't mean it's not good. Please enjoy The Marshall Tucker Band's "Can't you see" covered by Hank Williams Jr responsibly.

Discovery of the week

One of my favorite U.S. city has to be Knoxville TN. So when I found out about this band called The Black Lillies, which members refer to themselves as Knoxville natives, there was no hesitation that I had to make sure to listen to their latest album - which was out in late march- titled "Runaway Freeway Blues". Upon gathering some information about them turns out that they preformed multiple times at the Grand Ole Opry, which pretty much says everything. But before you take your card out, and buy their album there is one more information I can't hold back, and will seal the deal: they are independent, that means they do whatever the hell they want whether it's music or the way they dress or where they go.

“I think it’s an amazing thing we can have fan support and stay independent and be able to offer up an experience to our fans and not just, ‘here’s our music and just come to a show’,but ‘let me give you some art, let me give you something that you’re going to be able to connect with.’ Because that’s what we’re trying to do every day with our music, is connect with them. We have family all across the United States because of that" The wise word of the vocalist of the band Trisha Gene Brady.

Fried rice anyone? I got Duck Sauce.

Barbra Streisand? If you are that person who started to "whoo oooh ooo"... after reading that, well you are right. After their super annoying hit "Barbra Streisand", Duck Sauce come out with another -I'd dare to go there- annoying song. I'm not crazy about it but I obviously listened to it (multiple or maybe too many times).

So this week there will be no voting because no. This week won't be democratic, this week will be a little different. So here is the question for the week: How annoying Duck Sauce's new single is on a 1-5 scale.

1, Catchy
2, Not annoying
3, Catch yourself involuntarily singing it
4, The fact that you are singing it, bothers you much
5, Damn you Three Goblins and an Umbrella to showing me this song.

Annoying level

The Legend of Shelby the Swamp man

The Legend of Shelby the Swamp man is the title of History channel's new "reality series". Shelby became famous on Ax-men, where he searched the bayou for old logs which sunk decades ago. Now he gets his own show. Reality TV got a really bad reputation during the last couple years with a good reason. Everything and everybody has a reality show, look at History's reality line up - expect for, of course, Ax men and Ice road truckers-. There is Pawn stars in which the characters have no idea about anything expect how to buy stuff dirt cheap and convince everybody that they need to make money. While they kept "calling in their buddies to check it out", two of those buddies scored their own show. But why?
So finally a character who truly deserves it gets a show. It premiers August 6th on History, so make sure to tune in. Shelby is an all American, hard working, honest son of a gun. Wrestles gators and lives off the land just like his ancestors did centuries ago. If the time comes when money is worthless we will all run to guys like him to help us survive. And while some would say he is a redneck, stupid, and so forth I'd rather watch hard working man with an honest living with , then some dumb bitches complaining that they have to wait 20 minutes to get their Mercedes polished. "Heeeee reee goooo"
