can you feel the love?

I'm not talking about the Lion King, there will be no harm to animals ever on this blog. What I supposed is Rudimentals summer smash "Feel the love". Even if you are not a huge D&B fan you probably heard the song, it was impossible to miss it was everywhere which as always gave birth to very ambivalent feelings towards a basically good song. The guy who sings the vocal.. no its not Rudimental.. It's John Newman, "Love me again" should ring a bell, even if not the original but some dubsetp and drum and bass remixes which are floating out there like tiny plankton in the sea of music. Wow. So Subsoul which is another great label for anyone who like good electronic music, released the Wayward remix of the song "Cheating". If you into old Mj Cole era garage this comes pretty close to it. It won't necessarily be a song you throw your hands in the air but a perfect ending to a great night. Another way to put it: A garage love song. So here it is this week almost banger John Newman -Cheating (Wayward remix).

Fried rice anyone? I got Duck Sauce.

Barbra Streisand? If you are that person who started to "whoo oooh ooo"... after reading that, well you are right. After their super annoying hit "Barbra Streisand", Duck Sauce come out with another -I'd dare to go there- annoying song. I'm not crazy about it but I obviously listened to it (multiple or maybe too many times).

So this week there will be no voting because no. This week won't be democratic, this week will be a little different. So here is the question for the week: How annoying Duck Sauce's new single is on a 1-5 scale.

Things I find in a garage

At times comes a song which should be better known. I'm talking about a song that you can show to someone who isn't really into as they refer to it "computer noise". I'm also not talking about the pop non-sense again. If you want to present someone country music, you don't show them Taylor Swift. For me a good funk house hits home. Instruments, with a super bass, upbeat, and of course a sensational vocal. Well garage music as genre falls into -some of - these criteria. Since Mj Cole Artful Dodger I had trouble coming across something garagely funky. Something I put on repeat and  joyous with it for the whole day. During my recent expedition I came across an album released in early march. Traxx -House that garage built. Its a fair compilation of garage music by mostly U.K. Producers. I really won't talk about the album if you really into -revived- garage music well, yes sure listen to it. I would encourage you to pay attention to one track which stands out more then the others. In some ways it isn't even appropriate.

We all do have sunny/rainy days. Well music is the same, we all find good or bad songs on an album we should like or should not like. Harry Wolfman's remix of Ben Pearce's "What I might do" is undoubtedly the sunnier -way sunnier- days of the album. A mix worth sharing. A perfect Wednesday music. It reminds you of the weekend - like the garage music brings out that late happy '90s European club scene- this song brings out the weekend fun in a way it allows us to intellactually prepare for it. A song if stuck in one's head anytime thinking/singing it, will bring out some great memories. And if the memories fade in the mist of the past (or alcohol) will vitalize our music receptors to make us put on our "going-out best clothes" and make some of those memories.

 One of my favorite label is Defected. They produced records like, Dennis Ferrer`s Hey Hey, Bob Sinclair`s Love Generation. Their "Defected in the house" happenings are the Ministry of Sound in London or Events at Pacha in Ibiza but they have some pretty impressive venues in Asia also. So here's  The Get Along Gang's - Bassline Forget Me Not Remix, as it aired on Radio 1 a couple days ago, and the genius who played was B. Traits. This is not the official release, it`s before you can find it anywhere else because we are cool like that. So if you are a DJ make sure you`ll have it. Anybody with ears will love it. It has and old school vibe to it yet it`s still fresh. The vocals are great and the lyrics are just what you need to hear and of course the bassline. Play it loud and proud  in a club or as a matter of fact anywhere. Just play it and spread the world.

The weekend is over, the party is over, at least for some. For some, the night never stops it just gets brighter. But now the weekend is over, so here is something to go with going to your porch and relax, or as the weather recently is, in your room and relax. But honestly the more I listen to it I don't want to wait til Sunday to play, or hear it again. As it is, it should be played as baby making music. So you can dance to it "toe to toe back to back".
To be exact it's a song that should be played on a porch while you in a hammock baby making on Sunday. Now don't expect that you will hear a no name guy/girl today. Usually I pick music which should be well known or it will be. Now we picked someone who is already well known, she picked something which is also known- not world wide known but 3.5 million views of YouTube known-. She made a cover of it, so it can be well known and honestly should be well known and hopefully will be well known. We stroke gold -again- with this gem. It's Ellie Goulding, (you probably remember the pretty catchy-not sure if it's that good of a thing tho-song "Lights", which probably still comes in your head anytime you stop at a traffic light, or hit the light switch, or God forbids you order something light), but that's the past, this Alt-J cover is something worth paying attention to. I truly hope some of the talented DJs, producers create a mix that way you can think of the hammock while you partying. So here is our week closing song. Ellie Goulding-Tessellate.

It's never too late for something like this

As any usual day I was browsing the Internet, in search of some great tunes. I was looking for something fresh, something I haven't heard in a while. And then I came across this Danish - african girl Nabiha. I was really mad that, how come I've never heard her before.
The song I chose is called  "Mind the gap" which also the title of her new album that was out in March 22. Since we have never really done a vote on this page, I d like to grab the opportunity, and post both the original and a  remix made by a Finnish guy named Lenno. Its your first time that you can decide which one is better. I have no doubt, that listening to both of them will be a well spent 7 or so minutes. Its not the "Where have you been all my life" kind of song,  but more like a little red wild flower in a middle of a wheat field kind. It's a little different. Enjoy....

So fresh, it's hot

Belgium born Fredric De Backer known as Fred Baker has the title: Tune of the week. Yes, I know it's only Tuesday but trust me, it's that good. He became well known of his trance anthem in 1996 Y-TRAXX - Mystery Land, which he produced.  His other productions was played by many many DJs like Paul Oakenfold, Dj Tiesto, Pete Tong. He produced many remixes for  Praga Khan, Todd Terry, Timo Maas, Blank and Jones. So yes the guy has been around and now here is his latest "A new life on earth" 8 minutes and I promise, you won't regret it. I can hear this song is played in clubs just by itself. Starts fairly heavy as it should, no teasing but then it builds and builds, and then everything comes together and everything just makes sense, that's the point when summer hits you and you are in happy place my friend. Electro heaven.

So much win... we got lucky

Thomas Bangalter, and Guy-Manuel de Homem-Christo or as everybody knows them Daft Punk, the french Dj duo is back... finally. 
They never really disappeared tho, I mean who doesn't remember -and  it's a lesser known fact- Fedde le Grands "So much love" which he sampled from Thomas Bangalter. They also appeared on  the soundtrack of TRON:Legacy in 2010, but their last album "Alive" came out back in 2007.  
So yes it was about time. This time they got together with  Pharrell Williams - from N*E*R*D- for their first single "Get lucky". Their fourth album "Random Access Memory" is coming out on May 21st. So get lucky and get it.
